Learning To Succeed II

BarroMetrics Views: Learning To Succeed II

To learn to be successful, we must first learn. In this regard the biggest breakthrough has been Anders Ericsson’s “Deliberative Practice Model’. (For a description of the model see Deliberative Practice: What it is and Why You Need It).

Since Ericsson introduced it, there a number of studies have supported the idea. (e.g. F Gobet 2012; NB: this is a pdf download)

I want to take a blog or two to discuss the the model as a precursor to understanding why some traders fail to make the grade, despite a valiant attempt to learn.

Figure  1 shows the model. I’ll discuss the component ideas in tomorrow’s blog.
